Bakken Directory Spring 2014: Hegg brings $44 million apartment project to Bakken
As reported by Broadwayworld.com on Dec. 20, the North Highland Apartments, which are designed to help the Minot, N.D., area meet soaring demand for rental housing, will open in phases during the next two years.
“Construction is on target and we will begin leasing in July of 2014 the first completed units,” said Paul Hegg, president and CEO of Hegg Companies Inc.
Amenities at the North Highland Apartments will include underground parking, indoor swimming pool, business center, fitness facility, and media and community rooms.
The $44 million, 239-unit residential campus is being developed inside the Bakken oil-production area by Hegg Development Group, of Sioux Falls, S.D. Hegg Development Group also will manage the residential complex.
Hegg Companies Inc., founded in 1945, is involved in several projects in the region, including the development of housing, office and retail in Williston, N.D., and Watford City, N.D.
“The ongoing oil boom on the Bakken formation continues to attract an influx of energy workers and new businesses to hub communities such as Minot in western North Dakota,” said Hegg. “With the expanding work force comes the need for a variety of housing. “The goal of the North Highland Apartments is to not only fill a void in the rental housing market but to help people relocating to the area by providing them homes with amenities typically only seen in large urban areas,” he added.
